Showcasing Numazu to the world stage at SIGGRAPH Asia 2025

Aurora Studio joins a global lineup at SIGGRAPH Asia 2025 — showcasing our 1:1 digital recreation of Numazu to the world stage!

Project Numazu is a large-scale, ground-up recreation of the Japanese coastal city of Numazu, developed for OMSI 2 in partnership with Negi-Kyu Workshop (Guangzhou) and published by Aerosoft GmbH (Germany). The project integrates high-fidelity environment modeling, cultural research, and advanced workflow techniques to bring a 1:1 representation of Numazu’s urban atmosphere into a real-time simulation environment.

The SIGGRAPH Asia Games Program highlights projects that advance the evolution of interactive digital media. Our selection acknowledges not only the technical execution behind rebuilding a living Japanese cityscape with authenticity and accuracy, but also the cultural dimension that informs its atmosphere, visual identity, and narrative coherence.

During the event, Aurora Studio will showcase behind-the-scenes development materials, production workflows, and environment-building techniques used throughout the Project Numazu pipeline.

This includes lighting strategies, real-time asset optimization, and the city-scale research process that shaped the project’s overall design direction.

Showcase Highlights

  • 1:1 City-Scale Reconstruction of Numazu Station, Port District, and surrounding urban areas

  • Culturally researched environment design rooted in local geography and community identity

  • Efficient OMSI-optimized asset pipeline enabling large real-time maps without engine hacks

  • Collaboration with Aerosoft GmbH, bringing an Asian city project to global simulation audiences
